Vicky Protopapadaki holds a MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare (Distinction) from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies of the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of the Aegean. She researched feline behaviour and welfare at the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada, and initiatives and gaps in animal welfare education in Europe at the Institut de recerca i tecnologia agroalimentaries in Spain; she has published research in both fields. Additionally, she works as a scientific editor in the animal sciences and as an animal studies tutor for a private college in the UK.

Maria Zanou is a graduate of the Department of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and holds a Master’s degree in History, Ethics and Sociology of Medicine from the Medical School of the same university. She’s a member of the editorial team of Conatus – Journal of Philosophy, the international, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access biannual journal published by the NKUA Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory and the National Documentation Centre, where she started as an Associate Editor in April 2023 and from July 2026 serves as the Managing Editor. She has also participated in Erasmus+ KA2 and other domestic and international research programmes, and regularly undertakes the organisational and administrative support of scientific events organized by the Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory. She is currently pursuing an MA in Bioethics at the School of Philosophy of the University of Crete
